Searching Your Knowledge Base

Ask questions in plain English and interpret the results.

How to run a search

  1. 1Open the workspace you want to search.
  2. 2Click on the Chat tab.
  3. 3Type your question in the message box at the bottom of the screen.
  4. 4Press Enter or click the Send button.
  5. 5Mnemo will search your indexed documents and return an answer with source citations.

How to ask good questions

Mnemo works best with specific, conversational questions. You do not need to use search terms or keywords — ask the question the way you would ask a colleague.

Good

What are the planning conditions that require pre-commencement approval on the Riverside scheme?

Good

What is our policy on data retention for client files?

Less effective

planning conditions riverside

Asking follow-up questions

The conversation is contextual. You can ask a follow-up question based on the previous response, and Mnemo will use the context of the conversation to give a more relevant answer. For example:

You: What are the drainage conditions on the Riverside project?

Mnemo: [answers with sources]

You: Are there any similar conditions on the Morrison Street project?

If Mnemo cannot find an answer

If Mnemo cannot find reliable information in your knowledge base, it will tell you so rather than guessing. In that case, check whether the relevant document has been added and indexed in this workspace, or try rephrasing the question.
